Modern scientific research tells us that much of the ailments we suffer from in the Western world are diet related or influenced. Current thinking in that inflammation underlies much of the arthritis, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and dementia and other mental health issues, digestive disorders, chronic pain and other issues we face.
Some specific examples of conditions directly influenced by nutrition or diet:
- Migraines can be triggered by tyramine foods (cheese, red wine, chocolate) or MSG
- Certain arthritis’s are aggravated by night shade foods (peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, Goji)
- Many GERD (stomach reflux) medications cause magnesium and B12 deficiencies and can cause leg cramps and other symptoms. Cholesterol medications (statins) can cause muscle pain, weakness and fatigue by interfering with an enzyme affecting CoQ10.
